BCCI Selector Finally Reacts To Constant Non-Selection Of Sarfaraz Khan In Team India

1 year ago 51

The Indian cricket team has been performing pretty well in the white ball cricket whether it is T20I format or ODI format but many cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they believe that test cricket is the purest form of the game. Australia will be visiting India for 4-match test series starting from 9th February 2023 and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the Indian team for the first two test matches.

While Ravindra Jadeja’s presence will be confirmed only after checking his fitness levels at that time, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have received their maiden calls for test. However, a section of cricket fans is very disappointed and angry with the selectors for not giving a chance to the young cricketer Sarfaraz Khan.

Sarfaraz Khan has been performing in an exemplary manner in the domestic cricket and recently he scored three centuries for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. He is the second batter in the world cricket who has an average of more than 80 in First class cricket among the cricketers who have played more than 50 innings, the first one being Sir Don Bradman.

Many former cricketers including Sunil Gavaskar, Venkatesh Prasad, etc. also slammed the selectors for ignoring Sarfaraz Khan but now for the first time, a selector has responded on the hate that they have been receiving for not selecting the 25 years old Mumbai batter.

Sridharan Sharath who is a part of the BCCI’s five-member selection committee talked about Sarfaraz Khan and why he was not selected during an interview. He states that there is no doubt Sarfaraz Khan has been performing very well, he is on their radar and he will definitely get his due very soon but whenever a team is selected, the first priority for the selectors is team’s composition and balance.

After whitewashing the Kiwis in 3-match ODI series, the Indian team will now face the Kiwis in 3-match T20I series starting from today. The first T20I will be played today at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, Jharkhand, and the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be leading the team in this series.
