SRH won the match by 1 run after giving a target of 202 runs to RR, Travis Head (58 runs, 44 balls, 6 fours & 3 sixes), Nitish Kumar Reddy (76 runs not out, 42 balls, 3 fours & 8 sixes) and Heinrich Klaasen (42 runs, 19 balls, 3 fours & 3 sixes) played important knocks for their team. RR had a bad start as they lost their two top batters at the score of just 1 run in the first over of the innings, Jos Butler and skipper Sanju Samson got out for ducks but Yashasvi Jaiswal (67 runs, 40 balls, 7 fours & 2 sixes) and Riyan Parag (77 runs, 49 balls, 8 fours & 4 sixes) not only stabilized the innings but also kept the scoreboard ticking.

Because of some beautiful bowling by the SRH skipper Pat Cummins and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, RR fell short by 1 run and lost their second match of the tournament.

However, other than competitive game from both the teams, there were some moments which can be called controversial.

During the 15th over, Travis Head tried to play a drive on the bowling of Avesh Khan but he missed it as the ball was outside off-stump, Sanju Samson, the wicketkeeper collected the ball and threw it at the stumps.

An appeal was made and in the replay, it was seen that Travis Head’s bat was in the air but the third umpire Rohan Pandit gave Travis Head not out which angered the RR camp. Kumar Sangakkara, the director of cricket of RR was seen having a discussion with the fourth umpire.

The former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan who was doing commentary was also not happy with the decision and he slammed the umpires for poor umpiring.

However, RR didn’t need to wait much as Avesh Khan bowled the very next delivery in the same manner and in a bid to play it on the leg-side, Travis Head himself guided the ball on the stumps.
