The summer season is going on in full swing in India and residents of almost all the states are experiencing heatwave and on 15 April, Odisha registered the first de*th due to sunstroke.
Things are not good in Kolkata, West Bengal as well and a Doordarshan anchor Lopamudra Sinha fainted while live reporting about the heatwaves in West Bengal. After the incident, Lopamudra who is employed in the Kolkata branch made a post on the social networking site, Facebook in which she revealed that she was feeling unwell even before the broadcast but she tried to continue after having a glass of water thinking that it would improve her condition.
She didn’t get many chances to keep herself hydrated due to her busy schedule and she got the chance to drink water much later in the program. But her condition deteriorated and as Lopamudra reached the segment related to heatwave updates in West Bengal, her vision got blurred and then eventually she got blackout.

As per the Indian meteorological department, some part of the country will experience severe heatwave conditions and it is advisable to stay indoors during the afternoon.
