Mayank Yadav, the 21 years old Delhi pacer who is currently playing for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL 2024 became the talk of the town after he registered his name for bowling the fastest ball of this season. Mayank Yadav’s raw pace not only got him noticed but also helped his team in winning matches and in two matches, he was also adjudged as the Player of the Match.

Let us take a look at some other Indian pacers who have bowled over the speed of 152 km/hr:

1. Jasprit Bumrah:

The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is touted as the best bowler of the present times by his fans and his performance in the ongoing IPL 2024 has confirmed it as well but it was in 2018 that he registered his fastest delivery. He bowled his fastest delivery at the speed of 153.2 km/hr against Australia in 2018.

2. Mohammed Shami:

The veteran Indian pacer is currently out of action due to injury and it won’t be wrong to say that Gujarat Titans is missing his services pretty badly. Mohammed Shami’s fastest delivery was at the speed of 153.3 km/hr which he bowled against Australia in 2014.

3. Irfan Pathan:

The former Indian pacer who was pretty handy with bat as well was one of the best all-rounders of his time. Irfan Pathan who played for Baroda in domestic cricket was a member of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup winning squad and also of the Indian squad which won Champions Trophy in 2013. Irfan Pathan had touched the speed of 153.7 km/hr in 2007 against Pakistan.

4. Mayank Yadav:

The young pacer became India’s newest bowling sensation as he touched the speed of 156.7 km/hr against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the current season of the IPL. However, he has missed the last two matches due to hip injury which he suffered during the match against Gujarat Titans. It is being said that he may make a comeback in the match against Chennai Super Kings which will be played on 19 April as a video was posted by LSG on social media in which Mayank Yadav was seen bowling in nets.

5. Umran Malik:

The boy from Jammu & Kashmir was termed as the next big thing in Indian cricket after he impressed everyone with his raw pace in the IPL 2022 and he also got the chance to make debut for India pretty soon. But he lost his place in the team due to poor form and currently he is benched by his IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the IPL 2022, Umran Malik bowled at his highest speed of 157 km/hr against Delhi Capitals.

Other than these pacers, Ishan Sharma, Navdeep Saini, Umesh Tadav and Varun Aaron have also bowled at the speed of 152 km/hr or a little more while playing for the country.
